   Verbs only take this conjugation for the first person; this is actually one of the rare irregularities in Turkish and is not the standard form. The potential marker is -a-, agglutinated to the verm stem, followed by -bil- for the positive (from bilmek, no vowel harmony) or the negative aorist, -mAz-. -mAz- undergoes a couple deformations in the first person to begin with: because -mAzIm- is difficult, we use -mAm- for the first person singular instead; and because -mAzIz- is difficult, we use -mAmIz- for the plural.    uyumazsın - You don’t sleep
   uyuyamazsın - You can’t sleep (you don’t be-able-to-sleep)
   uyumam - I don’t sleep

   It should be noted that the difference between Turkish present progressive -Iyor- and the aorists is a source of confusion for English speakers. To be clear, uyuyamam is more of a general statement of chronic insomnia, whereas a Turkish speaker is likely to say uyuyamıyorum, “I can’t sleep (I am being unable-to-sleep)”

   uyuyamıyorum : the verb is done right now like : i cant sleep right now
   uyuyamam : the verb is done continous as a habit like : i cant sleep since i was 6
